home for the Davis family. The home is a

classic gabled structure with Downing

architectural features and a beautiful

spiral staircase in the central hall.

Located on the Cayuga Wine Trail, half way between Ithaca and Aurora, Fenner Ridge Inn is the perfect base for a tour of New York’s wine region, a visit to Cornell or Wells College, or a rural escape not far from excellent restaurants and small town diners. Go boating on Cayuga lake, hiking in the areas “gorges” state parks, or visit the shops in Aurora. Or just lounge on one of the three outdoor porches, doze under the enormous maple trees, watch the hedgehogs nibble on fallen fruit, or play badminton or croquet on the lawn.

Weekly rentals (Saturday noon through the following Sunday noon) are available in June and July. The full house (3-4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths) can sleep 6 to 8. Rates: $1400 per week, $700 long weekends. 50% deposit required.
